Kathy Ready: PODS

Kathy Ready was trained at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (Honours) in 1998. She is now based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Fuelled by her physical and emotional environment, colour - its vibrancy and how each plays against the other - is the underlying foundation that links all of Kathy's work.

Starting with a colour, mood or rough composition, Kathy makes her first mark on the canvas then, lets the painting unfold. Often using chalk and pencil to draw onto the surface, Kathy allows the painting to dictate the creative journey and end result. Currently, Kathy is exploring the essence of paint; creating different shades, tones and dimensions through multiple layers.

Essentially Kathy likes to create vibrant and accessible works of art that excite the viewer on a variety of levels.
